Sorry, WEY Must Close... Again

Updated: Nov 6

In accordance with Government instruction, I regret to advise that Weybridge Rowing Club is closed until further notice.

Lockdown rules prevent us offering the safe option of the club's private and managed pontoon for competent single scullers to boat for allowable exercise. However scullers with private boats can go afloat from a public space, which may be less secure. Members cannot access any club property unless for security or maintenance purposes. All club equipment is out of use.

Whilst the option of attending the club's premises is denied us, there will be online training, including Pilates sessions. Please keep in contact with your coaches and group coordinators throughout.

The Committee and I send our best wishes to members during this frustrating time.

A further update of note, 06-Nov-20:

However in a rare case of a little common sense we are, apparently, allowed to host Jubilee High School rowing club on Thursday afternoons, so long as it's in their timetabled curriculum period. We can even help them run it and use a safety launch.  But not for our club rowers.
