What is your current level of rowing?

Why we ask for this: Even in amateur rowing, it is useful to know height and weight. This helps us understand how you will fit the weight classification of the various boats across our fleet, as well as the demographic of our squads currently.

The Club is on Whittets Ait, an island next to Thames Lock where the river Wey meets the river Thames.

Getting to the Club:

  • By road: Weybridge is on the A317, 4km inside the London orbtial M25 at Junction 11 (Chertsey), which is midway between Gatwick (Jct. 8) and Heathrow (Jct. 14). Major roads nearby are the A3 (M25 Jct. 10) and the M3 (M25 Jct. 12). Plan your route.

  • By rail: Weybridge railway station is 2km away. South Western Railway semi-fast services from London Waterloo run approximately every 15 minutes; or there is a less frequent service via Staines and Virginia Water. Plan your route

Then to reach the Club on foot or by bike either:

  • Follow the footpath from Radnor Road (off Portmore Park Road), turn left immediately after the barrier, cross the footbridge over the stream (first picture down) then cross the road. Pick up the footpath directly opposite, with the green metal fencing on your right. Follow the footpath for another 200 metres to Thames Lock. The clubhouse is straight ahead of you over the little footbridge (pictured, third one down)

  • Go down Jessamy Road to the end, cross the small road bridge and bear left. You can leave your car in the visitors' parking bays on the left opposite the park - see this note. The footpath branches off to the right and runs for 200 metres to Thames Lock (third picture down).

Very local artwork by club member and Club Welfare Officer Judy Csiki-Sarsby:

Parking is not permitted on Whittets Ait except for short-term (max. 5h), drop-off and pick-up using the visitors' parking bays, opposite the park.

Parents may wait for their children in their cars but please do not abandon cars on the road, grass or pavement, or otherwise impede or disturb the residents of the apartments; our neighbours.

Be aware there are big rocks along the road which are likely to cause damage to your vehicle if you transgress!

The land is patrolled by private parking enforcement who can, and do, issue £100 parking tickets over which we have no control or right of appeal.
