David Hudson, a Weybridge RC oarsman since the 1970s, passed away at home on Sunday 9th December aged 74. Dave also competed for Tideway Scullers School and Thames Valley Skiff Club; his wide range of crewmates and friends will remember him as a talented and tenacious competitor. Dave last rowed in our Masters H VIII a fortnight ago, in a early morning session described as "one of our best outings". We send our condolences to his wife Yvonne. And to Bart, Jane & Theo who are pictured here setting-out for a rare family paddle with Dave in July 2018. Update : Dave's funeral is at Woking Crematorium on Friday 21st December at 1:15pm; and afterwards at the Anglers Public House, Manor Road, Walton, KT12 2PF

John Goldhawk, who rowed for Weybridge in the 1970s and 1980s, died on 22nd November. In recent years, he lived in Devon, but our older members may remember him. His father, Jim, was an enthusiastic member on both side of the War. We extend our sympathies to John's sister, Pam, who kindly let us know.

More sad news: we hear that Ian Baldwin has passed away in October 2018. Ian was a Weybridge oarsman in the early 1980s, then a coach and supporter, recently best-known for his umpiring in our region. He was a vice president of Walton & Weybridge Regatta in recognition of his years of service.

We heard today of the passing of Martin Pride last Thursday at the age of 74. Martin rowed and coached at Weybridge for over 40 years; he was also one of the leading coaches for the GB women's squad during the 1970s. At other times, Martin coached for WLARC as well as following his passion for sailing.
We offer our condolences to his family, including his wife, Joan, who rows for Weyfarers. Martin Pride's funeral will be at Woking Crematorium on Thursday 6th December at 2pm. We understand there will be significant attendance from his extended rowing family.
